About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Estimator to support our diverse engineering programs.
This role is newly created and critical in centralising a previously distributed function. The Estimator will have primary responsibility of responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Quotations (RFQs), building detailed cost estimates and contributing to high-value tenders.
Collaborating closely with Program Managers and the Technical Excellence team, the Estimator will ensure the accurate and efficient preparation of project scopes, pricing structures and proposals.
Key responsibilities include:
* Own and develop estimation and proposal templates.
* Actively participate in decision-making for tender pursuits.
* Review and summarise project scopes.
* Generate precise cost estimates with input from the technical team.
* Manage RFQs, liaise with key suppliers, and collaborate on architectures and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
* Write detailed and consistent proposals tailored to client needs.
* Train and mentor other teams in estimation best practice.
* Work closely with Program Managers and engineers to develop program schedules, methodologies, and project strategies.
About You
We are looking for someone that has:
* Motivation to shape and influence the estimation process.
* Experience in preparing cost estimates and technical proposals in the engineering sector with a focus on mining and critical infrastructure.
* Proficiency in scope reviews, supplier engagement and RFQ preparation.
* Ability to write and structure proposals with strong attention to detail.
* Familiarity with developing project schedules and methodologies.
* A collaborative approach and thrives in cross-functional environments.
* The ability to prioritise workloads and focus on high-value opportunities.
