We are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team, based in Perth, working on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, awards, and internal policies.
This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a high-volume environment, values confidentiality, and is committed to providing excellent customer service.
You will play a key role in supporting Fortescue employees through precise payroll administration while contributing to a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Process salaries, allowances, contract changes, terminations, and incentive payments accurately and timely.
* Ensure adherence to all applicable Federal and State payroll legislation.
* Administer and reconcile employee leave entitlements and deductions, including payments to external organizations.
* Manage employee superannuation in line with legal requirements, including remittances through the web portal.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data, adhering to privacy laws.
* Interpret and apply Award conditions correctly.
Qualifications And Experience
* Proven experience in a Payroll Officer or similar role, with a focus on high-volume data entry and validation.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient in MS Excel at an intermediate level.
* Strong commitment to customer service, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
* Experience with SAP payroll systems is highly advantageous.
* Prior experience in the Mining or Resourcing sectors is a plus, but not essential.
