The Team

The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) provides important health and wellbeing services for families across Tasmania with children aged 0-5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood service providers.

The CHaPS supports families as they transition into parenthood, enhancing parental confidence and capacity, and providing information and services focused on building relationships between children and parents/caregivers. It is a family-friendly workplace that values work‐life balance, encourages and supports career enhancement and growth. Monday to Friday Day Worker position with no Public Holidays.

The Role

* Provides leadership to clinical staff in the Child Health and Parenting Service.
* Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education, and nursing research functions.
* Leads and manages the coordination of overall client care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material, and financial resources for service delivery within CHaPS.

* Individuals will demonstrate capability to make rational and sound decisions based on a consideration of the facts and alternatives available, make quick decisions when required and will commit to definite courses of actions.
* Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including clinical governance; clinical risk management; evidence-based practice; research; clinical standards; ethics; and legislation.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 22 June 2026 until 4 July 2027.

Notwithstanding, hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

* Salary range: $126,036 to $132,932 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Current Working with Children Registration.

* Relevant post‐graduate qualification.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing and Health Management.
