We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to work closely with customer stakeholders, delivery teams, and technology partners to shape initiatives and design technology solutions that support strategic business outcomes. Based on‐site with the customer in Brisbane, you will combine strategic thinking, technical leadership and stakeholder engagement to help define future‐state solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles and managed services operating models.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with customer stakeholders to identify strategic initiatives and opportunities for technology improvement.
* Review current services, platforms and operating models to identify optimisation and transformation opportunities.
* Translate roadmap initiatives into practical programs, projects and solution designs.
* Facilitate workshops to define business outcomes, requirements, assumptions and success measures.
* Assess existing platforms and services from technical, operational and commercial perspectives.
* Develop solution options with clear consideration of cost, risk, complexity and business value.
* Prepare architecture artefacts, concept papers, options analyses, business cases and recommendations.
* Build proofs of concept, prototypes and minimum viable solutions where appropriate.
* Present recommendations and value propositions to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps aligned to customer objectives.
* Assess emerging technologies and industry trends for relevance to the customer environment.
* Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, security requirements and support models.
* Provide architectural guidance during project mobilisation and delivery.
* Support the transition of approved solutions into delivery and operational support teams.
* Collaborate with vendors, partners and engineering teams to develop innovative, supportable solutions.
Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* 8+ years' experience in solution architecture, consulting architecture, technical consulting or similar roles.
* Strong experience in Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architecture.
* Demonstrated success working directly with customers to identify opportunities and shape technology initiatives.
* Experience designing future‐state architectures using Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure Local and related cloud‐native services.
* Proven ability to develop business cases, options analyses and strategic technology recommendations.
* Experience working in complex enterprise environments, ideally across managed services, government or critical infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of modern digital technologies, security architectures and cloud transformation.
* Familiarity with agile and lean delivery methodologies, including SAFe, Scrum and DevOps.
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives, business stakeholders and technical teams.
