Primary Care Physician

About Us:

We are a leading provider of mental health services, specializing in the delivery of evidence-based care for adults, young people, and early childhood intervention.

The headspace team supports individuals with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use, and getting into work and study. We offer a range of treatments that cater to individual needs, from low-intensity brief interventions to high-intensity long-term support.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a youth-friendly Primary Care Physician to join our team at either the Woolloongabba or Nundah headspace centre.

This opportunity suits you if you:

* wish to develop your experience in youth health/mental health;
* are looking to take on additional hours or transition to part-time work;
* want to make a positive impact in your community by supporting young lives.

As a headspace physician, you will provide accessible medical services that cater to the unique needs of young people. You will have the chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care across physical, mental, and sexual health issues.

Your responsibilities may include providing preventative healthcare, identifying and treating health concerns, and creating Mental Health Treatment Plans when necessary.

On Offer:

You will have the flexibility to choose your working hours and days, with full autonomy to fit your schedule (ideally, one day per week).

Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities, as well as collaboration with experienced youth healthcare experts, including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, and mental health practitioners.

Clinical support is available onsite, including supervision from the Clinical Manager and administrative assistance at the headspace centre.

Requirements:

* You must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Hold current Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance.
* Be eligible to provide services under Medicare and willing to Bulk Bill.
* Have completed a minimum Level 1 in Mental Health Skills Training.
* Eligible to apply for or hold a Blue Card.
* Willing to apply for or hold NDIS worker screening clearance.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable individuals. All applicants must undergo required screening processes before their appointment.

We strive to create an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from diverse backgrounds to enhance cultural diversity and understanding within our workforce.
