Substance Use Counselor
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Substance Use Counselor.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals with mental disabilities and provide direct assistance in understanding and managing substance abuse.
* Develop, evaluate, implement, and modify case management plans that cater to the unique needs of each resident.
* Ensure residents have access to necessary transportation and escort them to substance abuse appointments, fostering a sense of security and support.
* Implement Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment upon discharge, providing residents with a comprehensive approach to recovery.
The ideal candidate will possess certifications in CPR, First Aid, and OD Responder from NYS Opioid Overdose Prevention Program, demonstrating their commitment to excellence in care.
A valid State Driver's ID and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential for this role.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for extended periods, ensuring physical stamina.
* Effective use of computer software such as MS Word and Outlook, promoting efficiency and productivity.
* In-depth knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse disorder causes and processes, enabling informed decision-making.
