Overview

Mechanic position at Busways, based at the Blacktown Depot. We are seeking a highly experienced, reliable individual who is capable of leading a team on a daily basis and supporting innovative practices as we strive to be an industry leader in maintenance of our fleet.

Compensation and Benefits

* Hourly rate: $38.68 - $42.44 per hour
* Earning potential: $120,000+ per year
* Dedicated employee benefit programs

What We Offer

* Earning Potential: $110,000 - $120,000+ including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances inclusive of super
* $38.68 - $42.44 per hour, depending on skills and experience
* Tool Allowance: $17.90 payable weekly
* Attendance Allowance: $32 payable on rostered worked hours
* Annual Leave: loading of 17.5%
* Ongoing Training and Development: Including in-house Heavy Vehicle Brake courses presented by a registered TAFE teacher
* Exposure to Advanced Technologies: Work on a range of vehicles, including Euro 5 & 6 technologies
* Licence Upgrade Opportunities: Upgrade from a car licence to MR licence, with costs covered by the company

Role Responsibilities

* Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, and assembling the fleet to ensure safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times
* Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer\'s guidelines
* Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures
* Attend breakdowns and carry out field-related mechanical repairs
* Effectively and efficiently communicate safety or maintenance issues
* Adhering to Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing duties
* Maintaining clean workshop practices
* Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required
* Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed

Our workshop staff play a critical role in maintaining our evolving fleet to the highest standard to keep staff and passengers safe on the road. Training will include information about our makes and models to ensure understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will

* Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
* Certificate III in commercial vehicle mechanical technology or above; or Certificate III in light vehicle mechanical technology with 4–5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role
* Experience in service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided to develop these skills)
* Ensure adherence to WHS regulations and company policies
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
* Proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
* Be physically fit to perform the role
* Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check and working with children check
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Hold a current unrestricted Australian driver's licence issued by the relevant state

Highly Regarded but Not Necessary

* Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian driver\'s licence
* Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (training and development provided)
