Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for shaping the company’s financial strategic direction and overseeing financial management, commercial services, procurement, risk and compliance. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO will play a vital role in leading the company’s financial strategy and ensuring robust governance, commercial insight, and corporate effectiveness. Based in Tasmania, the CFO will build strong and influential relationships with the community, shareholders, funding agencies, Board, and the leadership team.
Responsibilities
* Shape the company’s financial strategic direction and oversee financial management.
* Lead commercial services, procurement and risk & compliance functions.
* Act as trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors and leadership team.
* Drive initiatives that enhance commercial performance and improve operational efficiency.
* Ensure transparent, timely and accurate financial reporting and support major projects.
* Champion long‑term sustainability and foster a high‑performing team culture.
Qualifications
* Extensive high‑level financial management skills.
* Advanced commercial and analytic capability.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Demonstrated experience in complex, customer‑focused environments.
* Strong business improvement capability.
* Experience translating strategic vision into an operating model.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through periods of transformation with confidence and resilience.
