Support Indigenous Medical Students
This role provides an opportunity to play a pivotal part in the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students. As a mentor, advocate, and community engagement specialist, you will directly support the next generation of Indigenous doctors through guidance, advice, and cultural understanding.
About This Opportunity
In this position, you will be based in Rockhampton, working closely with local communities and passionate colleagues to create culturally inclusive educational experiences. At UQ, we are committed to reconciliation and improving health outcomes for Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Culturally informed advice and support to students throughout their academic journey
* Contributing to teaching in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program
* Mentorship and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, staff, and community members
* Familiarity with the education sector and its challenges
