Payroll & Compliance Officer
We are looking for the right person to join our fast-growing, Cairns based team of Security Superheroes.
NQPS Security is the largest, full service FNQ Security provider, servicing from Townsville to Port Douglas, and out to the Tablelands region.
With over 150 staff we are looking for a detail focussed team player with proven experience in payroll and compliance, preferably within the Security or related industry.
This is a full-time, on-site role with a flexible 38 hour working week. You will be supported by our Accounts team and the General and Operation's Managers.
You will be working alongside our CIT Services Manager, and have the support of Admin staff.
This position allows for future growth. NQPS Security has more than doubled in size over the last 12 months and continues to secure new contracts with government, council and multinationals, as well as a diverse range of local clients.
The preferred applicant will be:
* Adept at award interpretation (including all penalties) of the security award
* Proficient with Excel and Xero or other Payroll software
* Extremely diligent and able to self-monitor their own work
* Able to enjoy working in a busy and often dynamic office environment
* Open to learning and taking on other roles to provide coverage as needed
* Able to understand the importance of compliance, and genuinely gain satisfaction from setting up and overseeing the running of approved systems, policies, and procedures
* Able to ensure all registries, insurances and employee handbook guidelines are up-to-date and compliant.

* Able to foster compliance in a way that supports both individual employees and the company as a whole.
* A great communicator with skills both written and verbal
* Hands-on and operational
* Experienced with rostering platforms such as Deputy and /or Employment Hero, Dropbox Advanced, and Xero is advantageous.
* Able to inspire employees to fulfil all best practice compliance requirements
Role Description:
This is a mixed onsite role where you will work across both accounts and compliance.
You will:
* Verify shifts and export data for payroll and various reports as needed.
* Support accounts in invoicing and payroll finalisation.
* Work with senior management instruction to ensure compliance across the company
* Ensure all new hires are given, fill in and understand all onboarding documents
* Ensure compliance of operational tasks
* Manage and train employees as necessary to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures
* Keep all insurances, licenses and other requirements up-to-date
* Ensure all record keeping such as asset registers and calendars are updated promptly
* Bring any concerns up with senior management promptly and factually
* Ensure the privacy of all company, client and employee data is held securely
* Learn other facets of the business to provide coverage as needed
