About The Role
We are currently seeking a Cook/Food Preparer to join our Early Learning Centre and OSHC team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing healthy, diverse, and wholesome meals for up to 44 children aged 3–5 years during the day, and nutritious afternoon tea for our OSHC children.
This is a casual role, working approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks in line with nutrition guidelines
* Cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
* Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
* Manage food budgets and stock ordering
* Collaborate with educators to support children's well-being through food
* Make food fun, appealing, and appropriate for young children
Essential Criteria
What We’re Looking For
* Qualifications in food safety and food allergy training
* Proven experience in meal preparation and budget management
* Ability to work independently and as part of a close team
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Strong understanding of food allergies and cultural/family dietary needs
* Great creativity and a positive, “can-do” attitude
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* First Aid Certificate (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis – HLTAID004)
* NT Working with Children Clearance (or ability to obtain)
* Current driver’s licence
* Must reside in Australia
