About the Role
The Diversity Officer is a key role within the Programs Team responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of rehabilitation, reintegration and specialist support services.
Duties
Provide direct support and advocacy for people in care with diverse needs.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to co-coordinate and deliver specialist services, including cultural and religious events.
Contribute to and participate in case management activities, providing practice advice and support to case managers on diversity-related issues.
Research and implement programs, services and activities responsive to the needs of diverse cohorts.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with diverse populations, including multi-cultural, multi-faith and LGBTIQ+ communities.
Experience coordinating and delivering support services, preferably within a rehabilitation or social services field.
Understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by diverse and marginalised communities, and knowledge of available supports and services.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Salary: $79,122 to $96,073 (VPS3) plus superannuation.

Location
Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex is a medium-security facility located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from Geelong, and about 70km from Melbourne. The facility houses a mix of sentenced and remand men and focuses on containing them safely, securely and humanely while facilitating successful transition back into the community or continuation through the prison system.
