Fossung Multicultural and Education Services Inc. (FMAES) is a registered not-for-profit organisation supporting students and families from multicultural and refugee backgrounds across Logan and Ipswich. We deliver accessible, high-quality tutoring and learning support to help students build confidence, skills, and positive educational pathways.
About the Role
We are seeking tutors to support secondary school students through one-to-one and small-group tutoring sessions. Tutors will work with students in core learning areas such as Mathematics, English, Science, and other subjects, delivering structured, student-centred lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This role is ideal for qualified teachers, pre-service teachers, university students, or experienced tutors who are passionate about education and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored tutoring sessions aligned with the Australian Curriculum
* Support students with homework, assessment preparation, and core skill development
* Build positive learning relationships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
* Provide encouragement, feedback, and academic guidance
* Communicate student progress and needs with FMAES coordinators
* Maintain child-safe and professional standards at all times
Skills and Experience
* Strong knowledge in at least one core secondary subject (Maths, English, Science preferred)
* Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning needs
* Positive, patient, and culturally responsive approach
* Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable but not essential
Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
