Education Service Coordinator – Wellington Correctional Centre

Location: Wellington Correctional Centre

Employment type: Full-time Ongoing
Salary: $113,574.00 – 125,720.00 pa + Leave Loading + Superannuation

Your role:

Corrective Services NSW has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven team player to join the team responsible for facilitating the delivery of education services and programs within a correctional centre.

Based at Wellington Correctional Centre, you will coordinate the delivery of education programs and services across both centres. This involves the supervision of one staff member (Assessment and Planning Officer) at each location.

What you'll do:

* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan the delivery of education and vocational training programs by the external education service provider.
* Coordinate the delivery of assessment and planning services to offenders including the identification of priority inmates and allocation and monitoring of team caseloads.
* Contribute to offender case management by providing regular reports on offenders' learning progress and achievement and by participating in a range of case management activities.
* Monitor the quality of recording and reporting of offender participation in education and training programs.
* Appraise the performance of supervised staff and provide counsel and feedback to ensure organisational and personal development objectives are achieved.

Essential Requirements:

* Operational experience in planning and scheduling educational programs i.e., Vocational Training, Foundational Skills, Traineeships, Core Skills Assessments (CSA)
* Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description.
* Intermediate technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams and records management software.
* Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce reoffending and create safer communities. We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community.

CSNSW provides reports and advice to courts and releasing/parole authorities and assesses offenders in the community and in custody for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of reoffending. CSNSW works in partnership with other government and non-government justice and human services agencies to support victims, facilitate restorative justice and promote reintegration.
