Aboriginal Policy and Strategic Support Specialist
The Workforce and Aboriginal Outcomes division is seeking an expert to fill a vital role within the Aboriginal Operations Strategic Support team.
This is a prioritised opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
The successful candidate will have experience in planning and policy development, and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, its society and culture, and the issues impacting it.
They will also have demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
The Aboriginal Policy and Strategic Support Specialist sits within the Aboriginal Operational Strategic Supports team which is responsible for policy, contracts and procurement, governance and secretariat functions and planning and reporting for Aboriginal programs and services.
Some key responsibilities include leading the development of policies, guidelines and processes relating to people in custody, leading business and strategic planning processes for the Workforce and Aboriginal Outcomes division, and overseeing the development and review of programs and other support services for Aboriginal people in custody including consultation and reporting functions.
