Responsibilities
* Cut, trim, colour and shape hair or hairpieces based on customers instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers, razors and different types of professional colour brands.
* Condition, shampoo, bleach and work with chemical solutions for permanent and keratin straightening.
* Perform services including haircut, shaving, colouring, shampooing, trimming beards and moustaches as per latest trends and styles.
* Design traditional and contemporary hairstyles for men and women.
* Analyse clients' hair and other physical features to determine and recommend hair treatments or suggest hairstyles.
* Listen to clients' requests and help them understand the right style for their hair.
* Show a catalogue of different hairstyles to understand clients' tastes.
* Provide training to other staff regarding hair products and to juniors/assistants to help their career development.
* Schedule client appointments.
* Update and maintain customer information records, such as hair services provided.
* Work under the supervision of management, answer phone calls and assist other staff's work.
* Operate cash registers to receive payments from patrons.
* Demonstrate and sell hair care products; up‐sell salon products and services to meet and exceed sales targets.
* Develop new styles and techniques with ongoing training.
* Handle salon clients with great care and develop good relationships: greeting and welcoming customers, serving complementary coffee and tea and taking coats.
* Keep the salon and equipment safe and clean.
* Educate clients on products that could lead to sales and also client satisfaction.
* Distribute flyers and perform promotional work where necessary to increase clientele and promote re‐booking and loyalty among clients.
Qualifications
* Education: Certificate III + 2 years on‐job training or Certificate IV.
* Australian Experience: At least 3 years of Australian experience.
* Overseas Experience: At least 3 years of overseas experience.
* Work Rights: Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights holder.
