This is a temporary part‐time position (0.79 FTE or 60 hours per fortnight) for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined. About The Role
As the Teacher Aide you will be working with students with a disability both in the Special Education Unit and in the child's class. Previous experience or qualifications in working with students with a disability is recommended but is not absolutely necessary.
Responsibilities
* Support teaching and learning by assisting in classroom activities, working with individual students and small groups (including literacy and numeracy support), and helping prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
* Provide supervision and student support during classes, playground, transport, excursions, and sporting activities under teacher direction.
* Assist students with diverse and high-level needs, including personal care where required, while demonstrating empathy, respect, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
* Contribute to administrative and clerical tasks such as record‐keeping, preparing teaching materials, managing class rolls, handling student payments, and maintaining student progress records.
* Help maintain a safe and organised learning environment by managing equipment and resources, supporting health and safety (including first aid), and collaborating effectively as part of the school team.
