About the Role
Work as part of a team delivering the School Crossing Program by coordinating the work undertaken by School Crossing Supervisors to ensure that the Program is delivered to required standards and objectives.
The role involves being the local point of contact for community, councils, school principals, police and all the school crossing supervisors in the region. Responsibilities include overseeing site visits, rostering, performance management, recruitment, incident management, investigations and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Requires high level of computing skills, including information management systems, databases, spreadsheets and reporting on program outputs.
Oversee, organise and mentor school crossing supervisors dispersed across a large geographical area around Newcastle. Based in Newcastle with travel, including overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage the School Crossing Supervisors' work, ensuring delivery to standards and objectives.
* Act as local point of contact for community, councils, school principals, police and supervisors.
* Conduct site visits, roster supervisors, manage performance and recruitment.
* Manage incidents, conduct investigations and report on program outputs.
* Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
* Provide mentoring and support to supervisors across a large area.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong supervisory/people management experience with ability to manage a large team of permanent, part‐time and casual staff.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of Work Health & Safety issues.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Strong customer service ethos, empathy and calmness.
* Time management, proactive, deadline driven, community focus.
