About the role The Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane (MYAHCB) has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse. This role is being offered permanent part time 32 hours per week. MYAHCB offers specialised healthcare environment for patients predominately aged 16-25 and their families. Featuring innovative service models focused on the primary condition as well as the associated impacts on adolescent social, emotional, and educational development, the service will help patients and their families through transition from paediatric healthcare services into care during the young adult period and subsequent transition to adult services. At all times, the focus will be on providing a complete care package to meet the emotional and physical healthcare needs of the patient. The comprehensive service will demonstrate excellence in the management of all adolescent and young adult patients where there is an identified need and an evidenced clinical benefit. In addition to managing patients with chronic and complex conditions such as Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, complex urology conditions, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease, the Mater Young Adult Health Service will deliver programs across a broad spectrum of specialties relevant to the adolescent and young adult cohort. This position will involve working 24/7 rotating rostered shifts including early, late, night and weekend shifts. Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing The successful applicant will be required to team lead and provide clinical guidance, leadership and education to other members of the team. You will be capable of shift leading, demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and knowledge, and support the nurse manager to implement strategies and achieve optimal patient outcomes. As a MYAHCB Clinical Nurse you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Nurse Manager in agreed leadership and clinical functions within the service, including operational management functions of human and material resources relevant to the speciality. You will also be required to participate in education and staff development, contribute strongly to the quality/accreditation process and ultimately aim at improving patient care outcomes relevant to their clinical area. About you To be considered for this role you must have: Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions) Extensive clinical experience, preferably in a similar division/area An understanding of young adults and their healthcare needs Robust interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with young adults and their families Ability and commitment to work within a multidisciplinary team environment Commitment to professional development Ability to plan and facilitate management or workloads Focus and commitment towards risk and quality management Why join us?
