We are looking for a commercially sharp lawyer to become the cornerstone of our Australian legal function.
This isn't your typical in-house role where you're stuck in a back room. You'll be the primary legal advisor for our Australian business, a strategic partner at the table with sales, delivery, and leadership. You won't just be managing risk; you'll be enabling growth, shaping deals, and building something from the ground up as you take ownership of the region.
Your Impact: What You'll Achieve
As our sole Legal Counsel in Australia, you'll have true autonomy. Your mission will be to:
* Spearhead Commercial Negotiations: Drive the end-to-end negotiation of complex SaaS, software licensing, and strategic partnership agreements with major health providers across Australia.
* Serve as a Trusted Strategic Advisor: Translate complex legal and regulatory challenges (including privacy and data security) into clear, actionable advice that empowers our teams to move faster and smarter.
* Champion a Proactive Legal Culture: Go beyond just redlining. Proactively identify risks and design practical, business-friendly solutions that balance legal integrity with commercial momentum.
* Build and Scale the Legal Function: Refine and implement the legal templates, playbooks, and processes that will serve as the foundation for our Australian operations for years to come.
What You'll Bring to the Team
* An Australian-qualified lawyer with a current practising certificate.
* Proven experience in high-quality corporate and commercial law, gained either in a reputable law firm or a dynamic in-house team.
* Commercial Acumen: You're known for your pragmatic, business-first approach. Experience in the technology (SaaS) or health sectors is a massive plus.
* An Ownership Mindset: You are a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, thrives on autonomy, and is excited by the prospect of being the go-to legal expert for an entire region.
