The Infrastructure Services Department is responsible for delivering major projects and services across various areas within the Council's operations.
This role plays a key part in contributing to the success of the Infrastructure Services Section.
It involves developing and managing processes and systems to ensure staff have the tools and support needed to meet community expectations and team goals.
The role emphasizes driving best practices and fostering a positive culture within the team, across other departments, and throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities and Functions:

1. Prepare accurate project and task estimates for civil construction activities.
2. Prepare reports and fulfill other administrative requirements as directed by the Manager Engineering & Assets.
3. Conduct meetings, including monthly team meetings and community information sessions as needed.
4. Collaborate with other teams to achieve community outcomes.
5. Ensure team performance meets set objectives; address unsatisfactory performance following the Council's performance management policy.
6. Conduct on-the-job training and ensure proper induction of employees regarding their job requirements, work practices, and performance standards.
7. Manage the performance review process for all staff in the Construction team, ensuring it is documented and conducted annually.
8. Ensure all contractors, vehicles, and equipment comply with best practices and Council policies.
9. Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment, and materials.
10. Coordinate with the technical services team and the Manager Engineering & Assets to plan and administer the construction team's activities, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of the Annual Business Plan commitments.
11. Assist in staff management within the Construction team when required.
12. Perform duties in other areas within the employee's skills, competence, and training as requested by the Council.
