High-Level Description:
Provide leadership and subject matter expertise for Microsoft Messaging (Exchange Online/Hybrid/on-premises), with solid working knowledge across SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams and core Microsoft 365 services. Own the design and steady-state operation of reliable, secure messaging and collaboration services; guide governance and adoption; and collaborate with project and operations teams to deliver business outcomes.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Messaging
* Oversee enterprise messaging services across Exchange Online, Hybrid and on-premises.
* Maintain reliable mail flow and platform health; drive security, compliance and recoverability.
* Plan and execute messaging improvements and migrations with minimal user impact.
Microsoft 365 Collaboration (SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams)
* Support SharePoint Online and OneDrive information management and access controls at a working level.
* Administer core Teams policies and collaborate on lifecycle and governance.
* Promote good practices that enable productivity and data protection.
Identity & Access (AD/Entra ID) – in support of Microsoft workloads
* Apply foundational hybrid identity, authentication and access controls to enable secure collaboration.
* Align client and policy configuration to support Outlook/Office/M365 applications.
Endpoint & SOE Enablement (Supporting)
* Coordinate with endpoint teams on Windows 11 SOE readiness, Intune/Autopilot deployment and update posture.
* Ensure dependable client experience for Outlook, Teams and Office applications.
Operations, Documentation & Service Management
* Produce concise operational documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
* Operate changes and incidents using ITIL practices; lead problem investigations for recurring issues.
Stakeholder, Vendor & Continuous Improvement
* Engage with stakeholders and vendors to validate designs and resolve complex issues.
* Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve user experience.
Necessary Skills:
Messaging (Primary)
* Demonstrated experience with Exchange Online, Hybrid and on-premises in enterprise settings.
* Understanding of mail flow, platform operations and security/compliance fundamentals.
Microsoft 365 (Working to Mid-Level)
* SharePoint Online/OneDrive administration at a working to mid-level; core Teams administration.
* PowerShell for routine administration and reporting.
Enablement & Foundations
* Intune/Autopilot awareness; Windows 11 SOE concepts; basic MECM exposure beneficial.
* Identity management (AD/Entra ID), Conditional Access/MFA awareness; networking fundamentals relevant to M365.
Professional
* Clear communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation discipline.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a hybrid environment.
Certifications / Experience / Training (Preferred):
* 10+ years’ experience in Microsoft Messaging across enterprise environments.
* MS-203 ideal; complementary Microsoft 365/Identity certifications beneficial.
* ITIL Foundation preferred.
