The purpose of the Operations Manager is to manage the performance and basketball operations aspects of the EPDBA in line with the association's strategic priorities and goals. The Operations Manager is to provide leadership and be responsible for implementing sound high performance strategies that ensure continuous improvement, growth, and sustainability of the Eagles.
The Operations Manager will oversee the association's performance and delivery on a day-to-day basis, aligning with the EPDBA Board's direction, with particular focus on business operations, policies and procedures, competitions, basketball programs, and facilities.
The role includes responsibilities such as:
* Leading operational and financial performance;
* Building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships;
* Driving growth strategies to position EPDBA as a regional leader in basketball.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Overseeing the implementation of all EPDBA programs and competitions;
* Partnering with the Board to execute the Strategic Plan, including regular auditing, reporting, and providing strategic advice;
* Collaborating with stakeholders to enhance governance, participation, and community engagement;
* Developing and maintaining a profitable, sustainable business model, managing revenue and expenditure within budgets;
* Ensuring policies meet legislative requirements and child protection standards;
* Supporting governance issues and internal controls;
* Representing EPDBA positively to stakeholders and the public;
* Liaising with local government regarding programs, initiatives, and facilities;
* Building partnerships with stakeholders, organizations, and sponsors.
Key Requirements
Manage the administration of:
* Basketball Development Programs
* Junior and Senior Domestic competitions
* WABL and NBL1 teams
Ensure compliance with NBL1 and WABL rules, manage administrative functions, coordinate meetings, and work with the Basketball Development Officer on programs and growth initiatives. Oversee marketing, media, and grant applications. Must understand financial management software and Play HQ.
Qualifications include a tertiary degree in Sports Management or related business field, with at least 2 years of sporting/business experience, and an understanding of managing a community or sporting association from a basketball perspective.

* Successful, financially viable programs
* Effective staff management and KPI achievement
* Execution of Strategic Plan in collaboration with the board
* Maintaining positive relationships with clubs, sponsors, and stakeholders
* Annual performance and salary reviews conducted by the board
