Robert Half Technology are excited to be working with an international product development business specialising in road safety.
The Role
Reporting into the General Manager, this role is responsible for:
* Leading and mentoring a high-performing software team of around 10 permanent engineers plus contract resources
* Owning the delivery and ongoing evolution of mission-critical software products used in real-world deployments
* Balance hands‑on involvement with leadership, contributing to analysis, specifications, and program delivery
* Planning and allocating team resources to successfully deliver complex projects on time and to scope
* Overseeing the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to testing, deployment, and support
* Driving the transition from traditional delivery models to Agile ways of working
* Collaborate with international engineering teams as part of a global delivery model
* Continuously improve processes, quality standards, and documentation to support ISO-aligned outcomes and long‑term product excellence
Your Profile
* Experience delivering software projects or programs end to end
* Strong stakeholder management skills, working confidently with local and global teams
* Ability to translate client requirements into clear technical and solution designs
* Comfortable engaging with clients to shape solution designs and support tender and proposal submissions
* Hands‑on development experience across Linux and Windows environments, including C++, Python and Golang
* Familiar with common development and tracking tools such as Jira and Confluence
* Experience leading or coordinating engineers and third‑party resources
* Able to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of quality and service
