Foodbank SA & NT is the largest food relief organisation in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Established in 2000, Foodbank SA & NT is a profit for purpose, non‐denominational, community‐based organisation dedicated to supporting those in need. Its vision is to end hunger, and its mission is simple yet powerful: to deliver the most good food, to the most people, in the most efficient way possible. Today, Foodbank SA & NT operates 13 Food Hubs and 7 warehouses across both SA & NT including their new head office and distribution centre in Pooraka, providing essential food relief to more than 150,000 people every month – one third of whom are children. Over the past year alone, Foodbank SA & NT has sourced enough food to serve more than 12 million meals to individuals and families doing it tough in our community.
Based in Pooraka and reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, building on Foodbank SA & NT's reputation and proven success as a profit for purpose organisation dedicated to ending hunger across South Australia and the Northern Territory. The CEO will champion a positive, values‐driven culture by maintaining high levels of staff and volunteer engagement, collaboration and commitment, while also strengthening and expanding meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, SA & NT Governments, partners and local suppliers. The CEO will drive continuous improvement to enhance service delivery, ensuring the organisation operates efficiently, sustainably and with strong financial stewardship to support its long‐term mission and impact. This will require significant expertise in financial, commercial and business acumen.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate genuine empathy and a strong commitment to the mission and values of Foodbank SA & NT, with a passion for supporting people experiencing hardship. They will have experience leading a lean commercial entity or profit for purpose organisation and working effectively with a Board, supported by high‐level leadership and strategic management capability. We are seeking a senior leader with tertiary qualifications in a related field who will bring executive‐level experience leading a complex organisation with experience or sound understanding of delivering services in regional and remote Australia.
