The Opportunity
Weare looking for a motivated Plant Operator to join our OperationsTeam in Kununurra to assist in operating the Shire'splant to assist in delivering theShire works program and maintenance of roads anddrainage and other works inthe Kununurrasite andsurrounds. The role will also assist other Operational team members asrequired (i.e. Kununurra operations staff) from time to timeupon request by line management. Your responsibilities willinclude:
* Work as a team member toundertake duties relating tomaintenance and constructionprojects that enhance ormodifyShire roads, drainageand traffic infrastructure, parks, sporting facilities, publicopen spaces, reserves, streets,ablutionsand Shirefacilities;
* Operate plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner asper the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley guidelines andtraining;
* Ensure daily pre-operational checks and prescribedplant/machinery maintenance are carried out fully and allfaults or defects are reported;
* Maximising the efficiency of the plant and machinery on alltasks;
* Interpreting plans and drawings of road and drainagemaintenance and construction.
* Attending and participating in team meetings, inductions andtraining and following organisational specific procedures andprocesses when/where required;
* Utilising initiative to solve routine problems anddetermine ways to improve efficiency and performance.
Youwill also need experience in good customer service skill, abilityto work outdoors in East Kimberley conditions, ability to safelyoperate relevant equipment and strong communicationskill.
