The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records, processing payroll in compliance with tax laws, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to regulatory agencies.
This role requires a deep understanding of payroll legislation, tax requirements, and auditing procedures to maintain the company's commitment to legal and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payroll in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Monitor changes to relevant tax laws and implement necessary updates to payroll systems and procedures.Review payroll reports to ensure compliance with tax withholding and benefits deductions.Prepare and file payroll-related compliance reports, including tax filings, year-end reporting, and other required documents.Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide support on payroll-related matters.Conduct regular audits and internal reviews to identify compliance risks and ensure data accuracy.Provide advice to payroll and HR staff on compliance matters and regulatory changes.QualificationsStrong experience in payroll testing, implementation, and troubleshooting.Proven experience in payroll compliance, governance or a related field.Previous hands-on experience with payroll systems and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.In-depth understanding of compliance and payroll legislation requirements.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Additional InformationWe welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.Please note: This role is being sourced by our internal Talent Acquisition team; therefore, we will not be accepting applications via external recruitment agencies.Only applications from candidates holding full working rights for employment in Australia will be considered.
