Responsibilities and Duties
Preparing, seasoning, cooking, and presenting food in dining and catering establishments.
Examining food to ensure quality and freshness.
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations.
Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding garnishes or other accompaniments.
Observing workplace health and safety and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and food preparation areas.
Planning and preparing menus in consultation with Chefs and Supervisors.
Estimating food requirements and ordering supplies.
Training and supervising kitchen staff as required.
Experience and Qualifications
Certificate III OR IV in Commercial Cookery
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Cook.
Other Requirements
Availability to work on weekends and on a rotating roster.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork skills with a cooperative and professional attitude.
Passionate about delivering high-quality food and service.
