Overview

Allied Health Professional - Lead Practitioner Out of Home Care ). This position is also advertised as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner Out of Home Care d); only one position will be filled on merit.

We are seeking senior allied health professionals with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, trauma-informed therapy, and in mental health or a related sector. You will work within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment for children and young people.

Our Aim: The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing. We are seeking Lead Practitioners to provide clinical services for children and young people with mental health concerns who are in out of home care. Positions are within new teams developed under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).

The Lead Practitioner will be part of the Out of Home Care Program and will provide person-centred, trauma-informed therapy within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-level clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

- Be part of a dynamic, well-supported team delivering high-quality trauma-informed mental health services to children and young people in out of home care.
- Provide clinical services through complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
- Collaborate with team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new child and youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Lead and work with a diverse group of clinicians as part of the multidisciplinary team, offering support and consultation to other team members as required.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria

You will need:

- Demonstrated knowledge, skill and expertise in delivering clinical services related to the program area with the ability to provide high-level clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative, and work under minimal supervision.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant, evidence-based contemporary approaches to child and youth mental health services, with experience as a senior health professional in clinical practice settings.
- Experience in a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care approach with children, young people and families to ensure positive outcomes within the program area.

Eligibility:

- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program and registration with the relevant National Board, or full membership/eligibility with the relevant professional association for self-regulated professions.
- Current Working with Children Registration.

Desirable:

- Current Driver’s Licence.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience relevant to the role.
- Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role (holding or working towards).

Details of appointment

Permanent, full-time, day shift position, up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $123,717 to $130,900 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.

Salary packaging is available for advantages including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, plus other eligible benefits. Access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or the Personal Upgrade Scheme.

Professional development allowances up to $1,000 per annum and other allowances may be available.

Benefits for eligible candidates include travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for overseas appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees, professional development and accelerated pathways, various leave entitlements including study leave, and Fitness Passport (40+ facilities across Tasmania) for you and your family.
