Band 6 - Salary Range $97,926 to $106,637 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Recreation and Facility Activation Department as the Recreation Planning and Projects Officer. The City of Melton is the fastest growing municipality in Australia and home to a vibrant and diverse community. This position plays an important role in helping to deliver sport and recreation infrastructure and services to enhance the health and wellbeing of residents in the City of Melton.
The Recreation Planning and Projects Officer is responsible for managing and supporting the development plans relating to sport and recreation infrastructure and service provision for the City of Melton. The position will support the delivery of the capital works program for sport and recreation, ensuring projects are well planned, ready for delivery and that a high level of support is provided to ensure project objectives are achieved.
We are looking for someone who has well developed planning, project management and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the preparation of sport specific plans and reserve master plans.
* Manage the preparation of business cases, project briefs, feasibility studies, concept designs and cost plans for sport, recreation and leisure projects, ensuring projects are ready for delivery.
* Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders including sporting clubs and associations, funding partners, consultants and residents.
* Work collaboratively across Council departments to help achieve Council's objectives and support the delivery of Council's capital works program and priorities

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
* Tertiary qualification in Recreation Planning, Open Space Planning, Sports Management, Community Development or a related discipline with some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
* Excellent written and oral communication and internal and external stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to prepare and present effective plans and reports.
* Well-developed project management skills including task and time management, setting priorities, planning and managing workloads to complete projects within prescribed timeframes and on budget.
* Hold a current Victorian driver's licence.
