About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a legal professional to join the Civil Litigation Section of the Crown Solicitor's Office at the LEC2 to LEC4 classification. Subject to varying degrees of supervision and direction, the successful applicant will provide high quality legal advice and representation on matters of varying complexity to clients of the Crown Solicitor's Office.
The successful applicant will undertake a variety of advice and representation work across a wide variety of jurisdictions in the Civil Section which manages commercial disputes, coronial inquests, defamation, negligence, vicarious liability claims, employment issues, non-party and pre-action discovery and the compensation of victims of crime. This position will include opportunities to work across a variety of practice areas but have particular emphasis on claims for personal injury including those arising in the context of law enforcement, the care of children and medical negligence.
About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office, through the Attorney-General, provides legal services to government, Ministers, agencies and departments, including legal advice, representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating commercial contracts, drafting and production of legal documents, counsel for the conduct of summary prosecutions and Magistrates' appeals, native title claim management, land conveyancing and investigation.

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain a practising certificate within South Australia.
