As our client enters an exciting phase of continued growth, we are seeking to appoint a commercially astute Business Development Manager to join their close-knit executive team, helping to grow their presence across the Hospitality, Sport & Recreation, Local Government and University sectors. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, with a dotted line and close collaborative partnership with the General Manager, this role will play a critical part in strengthening the organisation’s market presence across multiple clients and projects. You will take a proactive approach to identifying preferred opportunities well ahead of project release, ensuring the organisation is positioned early with key stakeholders and considered for negotiated work, pre-qualification panels and select tenders. Key Deliverables Include Identify and cultivate new project opportunities across target sectors, building a strong and sustainable project pipeline. Develop long-term value through maintaining trusted relationships with key decision makers, consultants, developers and industry influencers. Position the organisation early in the project lifecycle to secure inclusion in pre-qualification processes, select tenders and negotiated opportunities. Gather and analyse market intelligence to identify emerging projects, funding activity and industry trends. Work closely with senior leaders and project teams to support capability statements, EOIs and tender submissions. Represent the organisation across industry networks, forums and events to strengthen market visibility, relationships and brand presence. To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Bring Demonstrated success in business development within the construction, property, project management or professional services sectors. A well-developed network across the construction ecosystem, with the ability to build authentic and lasting client relationships. Experience navigating long project lead cycles, maintaining momentum from early engagement through to project award. Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify opportunities and align them with organisational capability. A proactive, systematic and resilient approach to business development, with the persistence required to succeed. Strong commercial acumen and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
