Together, we'll find a way to healthier relationships.About the RoleWe're currently seeking applications for a 12 month fixed term, part time (22.5 hours per week) role of Children's Contact Service (CCS) Practitioner located at our Townsville venue.This position assists with the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the children.Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however please note that the position holder will be required to work alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 5pm) and evenings (10am to 6pm), with some flexibility, to meet the CCS program requirements.
Weekend work attracts generous penalty rates.Responsibilities:Facilitate contact arrangements and support children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits.Provide a safe and secure environment for the children.Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution, and other relevant frameworks.Undertake assessment and intake processes, including parent interviews, case planning and reviews.Organise safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child interaction.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will:Have a Bachelor degree in the social or behavioural sciences, preferably with a focus on child development.Have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse and/or neglect.Have experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.Knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or children's contact issues is also required.Ability to work on weekend and evening shifts.Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a First Aid/CPR Certificate.What We Can Offer YouThe salary being offered is between $84,000.00 to $96,000.00 per annum pro rata for part time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
