The Senior Retail Product Category Lead role within the Retail Product & Category Management team will drive the day-to-day E2E category management within the Retail network of over 250 stores. This role will lead localised Retail product ranging, product introduction and E2E lifecycle management to optimise sales performance and product availability / optimisation in Retail stores. You thrive on leading a small team, engaging with frontline teams and broader stakeholders to maximise category performance. Key to the role is the ability to analyse store level sales data and uncover market trends to extract deep insights that drive product performance, as well as collaborating with central teams to refine forecasting and replenishment models, and implementing effective category GTM strategies. Your role is pivotal in maximising revenue, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maintaining robust inventory compliance, thereby contributing to the overall success and competitive advantage of the retail category strategy. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Retail Product Category Lead, you use your very extensive Retail and product commercialisation experience, from across multiple product portfolios and domains to deliver against the following responsibilities: Analyse sales data and market trends to provide actionable insights that drive product performance in retail at a local store level. Develop and refine product ranging requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends at a local level. Understand and take action to support category sales volumes and GP targets, through implementing an E2E category management operating model. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of product strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with central teams to create and endorse accurate product forecasting models for retail. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team to deliver on the overall Retail category targets and objectives. Work with central teams to develop and endorse effective demand and replenishment models for retail. Execute comprehensive product lifecycle management to minimise slow-moving and obsolete inventory, reducing write-downs. Manage inventory compliance and develop strategies to control shrinkage, including supporting frontline inventory activities. Undertake effective space planning to ensure optimal product placement in-store, enhancing customer accessibility and satisfaction. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to product range, inventory levels, and sales performance. Continuously assess and improve processes related to inventory management, product ranging, and space planning. Provide training and support to retail teams on inventory compliance and shrinkage control strategies. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to inform and enhance retail product strategies. About You Qualifications Must be proficient in E2E Retail Category management including the ability to develop, refine and execute effective lifecycle strategies fit-for-purpose in telco In-depth understanding of retail category performance, with experience driving performance across a larger network of retail frontline teams Understands customer segmentation and market trends to ensure appropriate product ranging at a local level. Deep expertise in analysing geographical sales data to provide actionable insights for product and inventory management as well as ability to interpret complex data to make informed decisions that drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction. Must have relevant people leadership experience Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, to translate these into lifecycle and Go-to-market management plans, as well as continuous improvement strategies Capable of working autonomously and managing multiple varied timebound deliverables Excellent communication skills to articulate strategies and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Building category reporting and extracting insights on a weekly basis Supporting new product launches across major vendors and new products Developing a category calendar of events, to align with promotional activity and leading idea generation and execution Highlighting continuous improvement areas for reducing stock obsolescence, replenishment optimisation, incentives, promotions, and pricing alignment Background in Consumer Retail Telco experience – an advantage Bachelor's degree in marketing, economics, data analytics, or a related field preferred If you enjoy collaborating with different people and delivering amazing experiences for the customer, we want to hear from you!
