Communications Engineer | Mission-Critical Wireless Networks
Location: Brisbane based, with site travel as required
An opportunity for a hands‐on communications engineer who wants to own real networks in the field, not just design them on paper.
You will work across the full lifecycle of mission‐critical wireless and communications infrastructure that underpins large‐scale industrial and resources operations. This is a role for someone who likes being across both the design package and the site cutover, who enjoys solving the hard RF and network problems that keep complex operations running, and who wants variety rather than the same network year after year.
What you'll be doing
* Designing, configuring and commissioning wireless and IP communications systems, from concept through to FAT, SAT and handover
* Working hands‐on across private cellular (LTE/5G), digital radio (P25, DMR, TETRA) and the IP networking that ties it together
* Leading technical activities during onsite commissioning and acceptance testing
* Producing design packages, ITPs and acceptance documentation to a high standard
* Troubleshooting complex technical issues and driving improvements in system performance
* Liaising with clients, vendors and internal teams across project delivery
What you'll bring
* 5+ years designing, deploying and maintaining wireless, fixed and critical communications networks
* Strong IP networking foundation (Cisco CCNA minimum, with a path to CCNP)
* Exposure to private LTE/5G and digital voice/radio systems
* Genuine field and commissioning experience, ideally in an industrial, resources or mission‐critical environment
* A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
* Right to work in Australia and a current driver's licence
* RPEQ – hugely advantageous
