Are you passionate about creating delicious and nutritious meals? Bordertown Memorial Hospital is looking for a dedicated Patient Services Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a crucial member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive high‐quality, wholesome meals during their stay.
Responsibilities
* Ordering of non‐imprest food supplies
* Plating of meals
* Menu selections
* Ensuring that quality control of food production is maintained to an acceptable standard.
* Expected to work as a member of a multi-skilled team and be able to use own initiative in setting priorities in decision making.
* Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for all patients, staff and visitors by following established procedures and work practices.
* Abide by the Hospital's policy relating to personal hygiene, food service hygiene and infection control in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines, the Environmental Officer and related Food Act 2001.
About You
* Experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals
* Experience in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements
* Ability to adhere to instructions, established practices, procedures and guidelines
* Able to work as a co‐operative and effective team member
* Ability to work with minimum supervision utilising initiative and/or judgement to ensure the timely completion of tasks and activities as directed
* Ability to communicate with all staff, visitors, patients and clients while exercising courtesy and tact
