Establish and maintain a district-wide multidisciplinary approach to care and work with Nurse Practitioners and the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic and integrated care in line with HITH PD2025_004.
Deliver acute and sub-acute treatments by health care professionals in patients\' homes, residential aged care facilities, community settings or the HiTH unit.
This is a district-wide position servicing HiTH patients across SNSWLHD.
Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.Responsibilities and dutiesProvide medical governance and high-quality physician services within the HiTH model of care.Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Nurse Practitioners.Ensure effective clinical communication using information technology and documented interpersonal skills.Engage in collaborative care models with relevant specialists.Support teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.Uphold clinical governance standards and contribute to high-quality customer service, workplace diversity, health and safety, and related legislation.Maintain a current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to drive/travel as required (including long distances and overnight stays).
QualificationsEligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as Emergency or Specialist General Physician and able to manage a variety of clinical conditions.Proven clinical leadership of a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners.Strong clinical communication skills with information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal abilities.Willingness to partner in collaborative care models with relevant specialists.Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.Understanding and commitment to clinical governance, customer service, workplace diversity, occupational health and safety, and related legislation.Current unrestricted driver\'s licence and willingness to drive/travel as required.Selection and qualificationsOASV requirements apply as per NSW Health policy PD2024_015.
Category A position; vaccination against influenza is required for NSW staff entering residential aged care facilities or NSW Health RACFs.
