Digital Preservation Coordinator Opportunity
We are seeking a professional to join our Collection Engagement Business Unit as a Digital Preservation Coordinator.
The successful candidate will manage a small team and be responsible for coordinating digital preservation systems, processes, and standards for our digital cultural collections and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Trusted Digital Repository Management: Ensure the reliable operation of our Trusted Digital Repository (TDR) and provide day-to-day administrative oversight.
* Vendor and IT Collaboration: Work closely with vendors and our IT team to identify opportunities for improvement in system and business processes.
* Team Supervision and Planning: Supervise a Digital Preservation Technician and plan, manage, and undertake digital preservation activities.
* Collection Systems Management: Collaborate with Collection Engagement to ensure data integrity and provide advice on system management and upgrades.
* Cross-Museum Collaboration: Work across the Museum to acquire, produce, document, preserve, and provide access to our digital cultural collections and assets.
* Sector Relationships and Research: Build sector relationships and undertake research to improve digital preservation standards and processes.
* Skill Development and Support: Support the Division in learning and developing skills regarding preserving digital cultural objects.
* Policy Development and Reporting: Assist the Manager, Changeable and Digital Collections with policy development, reporting, and other tasks as required.
