NYFL is seeking a WY Program Team Lead to support the delivery of the Warrgamugardi Yirdiyabura (WY) Program in Ieramugadu (Roebourne).
This is a hands‐on leadership role focused on coordinating day‐to‐day activities, supporting mentors, and working directly with participants to build pathways into training, employment, and life skills.
The role focuses on ensuring safe, consistent, and culturally appropriate program delivery, supporting participant engagement in training and employment pathways, and maintaining effective relationships with employers, families, and community partners.
Classification: SCHADS Award – Social & Community Services Stream, Level 4
Reports to: Manager – Employment & Training
Key Responsibilities
* Support the day‐to‐day coordination of WY Program activities, training, and employment placements.
* Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, and participant engagement.
* Ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with program guidelines and cultural protocols.
* Provide day‐to‐day guidance and support to WY Mentors.
* Assist with task allocation, debriefs, and consistent practice.
* Model respectful, culturally safe, and professional behaviour.
* Support participants to engage in training, employment, and work‐readiness activities.
* Provide practical assistance and referrals in collaboration with mentors and service providers.
* Assist in responding to attendance issues and re‐engagement using agreed processes.
* Support relationships with host employers, training providers, and community partners.
* Assist with workplace check‐ins, inductions, and issue follow‐up as required.
* Escalate complex or high‐risk matters to the Manager – Employment and Training.
* Maintain accurate records, attendance data, and basic case notes.
* Support collection of required documentation for participants and employers.
* Follow organisational policies relating to WHS, child safety, and information management.

* Experience working in community services, youth work, or employment programs.
* Ability to build and maintain respectful, trust‐based relationships with participants, families, and community.
* Strong communication skills and confidence working in diverse community settings.
* Understanding of working in complex environments, with a consistent and considered approach.
* Ability to support others while maintaining clear boundaries and professional standards.
Desirable
* Certificate IV in Community Services (or similar).
* Experience working with First Nations communities or in culturally diverse contexts.
* Local knowledge of Ieramugadu (Roebourne) and surrounding communities.
