The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly processes to deliver group P&L’s, balance sheet reconciliations and compliance requirements of the Finance function, whilst being involved in projects and continually improving processes and systems. They will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of a range of accounting duties in accordance with statutory legislation, accounting standards, internal controls and endota policies and procedures. This is a full-time position, however part time could be considered for a senior candidate.
Key Responsibilities
As the Accounting Manager, you will:
* Preparation and analysis of first-cut month end Group and International financial results, including divisional profit and loss and balance sheets for the group (including NZ).
* Reviewing of monthly Spa-by-Spa reporting prior to the Commercial team distributing the report to Head of Retail Operations.
* Acquisition accounting for Franchise acquisitions (Buy backs).
* Monthly preparation and reconciliation of AASB16.
* Management of transactional data entry of the Group to ensure data is accurate and timely.
* Lodgement of all taxation and payment to relevant bodies (Income Tax, BAS, GST, FBT, PAYG etc).
* Assist with Tax planning strategies for the Group with the Financial Controller & CFO.
* Completion of month end journals including accruals, prepayment, and amortisation schedules
* Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliation in an accurately and timely manner and any anomalies are resolved.
* Assist in the preparation of bi-yearly banking covenants.
* Assist in the yearly preparation of regulatory reporting requirements for our Registered Training Organisation.
* Assessing asset impairment for spas and the Group (e.g. Goodwill).
* Drive and review daily / monthly cash flow reporting and analysis
* Assist with Tax planning strategies for the Group with the Financial Controller & CFO.
* Involvement with various project work and continuous improvements as required, including streamlining, and improving processes.
About you
* CA / CPA Qualified is essential
* 5+ years’ experience working in a commercial or similar role within a fast-paced environment
* Proven experience on tax effect accounting, audit, banking / treasury and compliance.
* High attention to detail and the ability to accurately enter and retrieve data
* High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with the ability to review and interpret numerical information in line with audit, ATO and regulatory requirements
* Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and work demands
* Time management skills and the ability to set priorities and organise work to meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide information in a clear, concise and timely manner
* Demonstrates a proactive mindset by taking ownership, anticipating next steps and acting without the need for close supervision
