(Pro-rata) Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits Permanent Part time position working 30 hours per week Eligibility Open to Everyone Overview The Day Centre Assistant provides support to the Day Centre/Home Support Officer to provide a high quality group social and respite program for clients and Carer’s in the Mt Gambier Community. The Day Centre Program aims to provide social, recreational and occupational opportunities, offering meaningful participation, empowerment and self determination to improve health and wellbeing. The Day Centre Assistant assists aged and disabled persons residing at home to achieve optimum independence and quality of life by providing group and individual activity programs, personal care, support for activities of daily living and support for carers. The incumbent liaises closely with clinicians, case managers and service coordinators regarding care plans and review of clients’ needs. The purpose of the position is to provide practical support services to individuals, in order to enhance their independence and participation in the community. The incumbent collaborates with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of coordinated and professional standards of care.
