Job Description
We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to provide active support and engage with residents who have complex support needs and behaviours of concern in a group home setting. You will be required to assist with daily tasks, manage challenging behaviours, and participate in daily bus runs to transport residents to day placements. About the Role
This position requires a commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities. You will be expected to develop positive relationships with service users and support their Individual Personal Plans. Your key responsibilities include providing quality direct support to service users, increasing their skills through independence and personal growth, implementing development programs, and assisting in the delivery of programs that facilitate social networks and community activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum Cert IV Qualified in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
- A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate
- A current unrestricted Driver Licence and ability to drive a 9-seater bus.
- Hold or willing to obtain the NDIS workers screening check
- Commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities
- Ability to develop positive relationships with service users and support their Individual Personal Plans.
