We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services).
We work to a modern, evidence based and holistic Model of Care.About The RoleThe Salvation Army's Wagga Wagga Recovery Hub (WWRH) provides support to adults across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District who are experiencing Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) related challenges.
Funded By The NSW Ministry Of Health As Part Of The Response To The Ice Inquiry, The Hub Is a Collaborative, Co-designed Partnership Led By The Salvation Army Alongside RivMed, St Vincent de Paul, Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy (CAHMA) and NSW Users and AIDS Association (NUAA).
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new, collaborative service model focused on participant-led recovery and community impact.
Based in central Wagga Wagga, this full-time position (12-month contract) involves working closely with participants, partners, and MLHD clinical teams to provide hands-on support and foster safe, structured, and empowering environments.
Some evening (Until 8pm) and Saturday work will be required.
NSW Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 3.How You Will Make An ImpactProvide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policies and procedures, being accessible and visible to participants to ensure their needs are dealt with promptly.Provide access and support to Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) staff to operate satellite services from the Wagga Wagga Recovery Hub (WWRH) services as part of the new Integrated Alcohol & Other Drugs Service including clinics for Opioid Agonist Treatment Program (OAT) and Hepatitis C & STI Screening.Assist addressing to participant needs, administer the program, contribute to case plans, educational group facilitation and provide supervision to participants.Support with outreach to participants at other services where required including transportation.Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.As part of the NSP, providing sterile injecting equipment and peer support.
Delivering brief interventions and health education.
Supporting healthcare navigation for individuals who inject drugs.
Addressing barriers to accessing services and reducing stigma and discrimination.Keep and maintain accurate records and case notes on data management systems.In line with agreed delegation make decisions consistent with TSA Recovery Services and Centre Policy and procedures in relation to participant/staff matters.Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by Management.What You Will BringMinimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline.Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment).
