About the Role
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) in our East Maitland kitchen. As Chef, you’ll be part of a supportive team, helping to create fresh, handmade meals that reflect our organic values and commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Sharing ideas and thoughts with other Chefs to plan and update menus (including daily specials and organic food menu) for breakfast and lunch, highly focused on gluten free, vegan, dairy free, wheat intolerance and paleo needs;
- Working closely with other Chefs including Head Chef on estimating amounts and costs of required supplies such as food and ingredients including labour costs;
- Collecting and organising food and commodities for different menus;
- Responsible for the quality of Kitchen dishes by inspecting ingredients as well as the presentation;
- Direct the preparation, seasoning and cooking of various dishes;
- Maintaining effective communication with the kitchen team members and food service staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen and cafe;
- Ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen area;
- Providing advice on cooking procedures and organising logical work sequences within time;
- Training other kitchen staff, juniors, and apprentices
What We Offer

- Qualified Chef
- Strong understanding of menu planning, food safety, and kitchen management
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a busy kitchen
- Passion for organic, sustainable, and thoughtfully prepared food catering to diverse dietary requirements and needs
