About myResearch Sydney
myResearch Sydney is a multi-year project to make Sydney a better place to work and a place that works better. It will effect a digital transformation of our research administration to enable easy access to high fidelity data and information, and smoother administrative workflows. Our goal is to free up time for researchers and research support staff to allow us to focus more on core priorities.
As one of the flagship projects of the University of Sydney's 2032 strategy, myResearch Sydney touches upon numerous strategic priorities, and impacts the work of many academic and professional staff. As such, myResearch Sydney is a high-profile strategic project with a significant stakeholder engagement component. Business led, the project is driven from the University's Research Portfolio and involves multiple delivery partners including Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Advanced Analytics & Planning (AAP), Finance, Human Resources (HR) and multiple partners in our faculties and schools.
About the opportunity
As the Program Manager,you will provide program and operational leadership and management for the myResearch Sydney program. Under the direction of the Program Director, you will be working to ensure effective planning, resource utilisation, and stakeholder collaboration. You will maintain program management plans, including resource plans and budgets, ensure the effective and consistent implementation of project management best practices in program workstreams, and proactively manage risk and issues.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
establish and maintain program management plans for mRS, including program structure, governance and performance indicators
design and implement a consolidated program roadmap to provide consistency and visibility across program workstreams and the broader institution
ensure alignment across program workstreams and other initiatives identifying opportunities for consolidation, leveraging resources, and collaboration
ensure consistent and efficient implementation of project management best practices across the program workstreams
optimise resource utilisation and deployment across workstreams, including finances, personnel, workspace and technology
oversee program risk and issue management, monitoring of program benefits and performance indicators, and integrity of data and artefacts.
About you
experience leading multiple large or complex projects / initiatives with the ability to work to deadlines and manage competing demands
experience coordinating or managing a diverse and large group of stakeholders at all levels within an organisation across multiple projects or a large program
experience managing budgets and controlling expenditure for multiple projects or a large program
experience in managing people, including their performance and development, and building a culture of collaboration and collegiality
excellent interpersonal and communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and the ability to use discretion and tact
experience in the higher education or tertiary sector or a complex, multi-faceted organisation.
