Gardening Team Member – Mowing & Garden Maintenance Support
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Gardening Team Member to work alongside and support our participants on our mowing and gardening team. This role involves hands-on garden maintenance while facilitating, guiding, and teaching participants with disabilities to complete gardening tasks to a neat, safe, and high-quality standard.
The successful candidate will lead by example, promote independence, and create a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside participants completing mowing and garden maintenance tasks
* Carry out general garden maintenance including:
* Lawn mowing and edging
* Weeding, pruning, and trimming
* Yard tidying and clean-ups
* Safely operate lawn and garden tools and equipment
* Teach and demonstrate correct gardening techniques, encouraging pride in neat and well-finished work
* Support participants to develop skills, confidence, and independence in their tasks
* Ensure all work is completed safely and to an appropriate quality standard
* Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
* Communicate clearly, patiently, and respectfully with participants and team members
* Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Skills & Experience
* Experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance (preferred but not essential)
* Experience working with people with disabilities or in a support role (preferred but not essential)
* Ability to teach and demonstrate tasks in a clear, supportive manner
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, encouraging, and team-focused attitude
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
Requirements
* Ability to safely operate lawn mowers and gardening equipment
* Commitment to inclusive, respectful support practices
* Current manual driver's licence
* Working with childrens check and police check

Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 21 per week
