About the Role

We’re looking for a Level 3 Automation Engineer to join our team in Perth. This is a hands‑on, senior technical role focused on designing, implementing and maintaining automation systems that enhance efficiency, reliability and performance across enterprise environments.

You’ll develop automation that connects security tools, network systems, cloud platforms and service management systems to drive intelligent orchestration and reduce manual effort.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver secure, scalable automation solutions across enterprise customer environments.
- Integrate automation workflows across tools such as CrowdStrike, Netskope, Mimecast, ServiceNow and Microsoft 365.
- Automate security operations and service delivery functions to reduce manual tasks and improve visibility.
- Collaborate with security engineers and analysts to identify automation opportunities and optimise performance.
- Develop reusable components, templates, and configurations to ensure consistency in implementations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve automation tools, frameworks, and processes to increase efficiency.
- Share knowledge and champion automation best practices across the business.

What You Bring

You are a technically strong engineer with a mindset for efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. You’ll bring:

- 5+ years’ experience in DevOps, automation or related engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Go, or Bash with strong API integration skills.
- Experience delivering automation in enterprise or managed service environments.
- Familiarity with O365, ServiceNow, Postman and similar toolsets.
- Knowledge of security technologies such as endpoint, email, network, SIEM, or cloud tools (desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on outcomes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to influence across teams.

Qualifications and Clearances

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in DevOps and Agile delivery environments.
- Relevant technology certifications (Microsoft, AWS, or automation‑related).
- Australian Citizen with NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Police check to be completed as part of onboarding.

Why Join CSO Group?

CSO Group is an award‑winning cybersecurity company committed to helping Australian businesses operate securely and efficiently.

- Work with leading technologies and major enterprise clients.
- Be part of a values‑driven team focused on innovation, transparency, and accountability.
- Contribute directly to improving security operations through intelligent automation.
- Enjoy a collaborative environment that values learning, creativity, and impact.

Ready to drive automation that makes a real difference?

If you’re a skilled engineer passionate about building smart, secure solutions, we’d love to hear from you.
