About the role
The Occasional Care service at Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) provides high-quality short-term care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years whilst parents use the facilities. Sessions run Monday to Friday between 9am and 12pm, also during the school holiday period.
What You'll Be Doing
* Create engaging play‐based experiences that support children's learning and development
* Build warm, positive relationships with children and their families
* Set up inviting rooms and resources to suit the day's activities
* Support children's cognitive, physical, social, emotional and language development
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance and incident documentation
* Pack up, clean, and leave the room ready for the next exciting session
About you
You are a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator who delivers high-quality, child-focused care and education. With a warm, caring personality and excellent interpersonal skills, you work collaboratively with families and staff to create a positive environment.
The following is also required:
* Minimum qualification required is a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care; however a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred
* Experience in early years education and care
* Detailed understanding of the Victorian Children's Services Regulations and associated laws
* Current CPR and First Aid qualifications (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma management)
