What You'll Be Doing
* Lead, support, and coach the retail team—managing workflow, rosters, and daily shop operations.
* Explore and introduce new product ranges to keep our offering fresh and relevant.
* Build strong relationships with high-profile and large-scale clients.
* Oversee stock arrivals, inventory rotation, and in-store presentation.
* Keep your finger on the pulse of customer trends and emerging needs.
* Collaborate closely with distribution, medals, marketing, customer service, and sales teams.
* Prepare sales quotations, manage orders, and liaise with suppliers and customers.
* Be a familiar, friendly face for returning customers and a trusted advisor for new ones.
About You
* You're an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
* You love motivating others and bringing a positive, customer-first mindset.
* You're curious, proactive, and always on the lookout for ways to improve product ranges and customer experiences.
* You're detail-driven, organised, and reliable.
* You enjoy building and nurturing long-term customer relationships.
* You're confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.
Skills & Qualifications
* 3+ years in a similar retail management role.
* 5+ years in customer service.
* Strong verbal communication and leadership skills.
* Highly regarded: experience in fast-paced, high-volume retail environments.
* Advantageous: experience or familiarity with military, defence, police or security sectors.
Role Details
* This is a full-time position based at The Military Shop in Fyshwick, ACT.
* Some Saturday work is required as part of regular retail operations.
* Long-term position (not suitable for short-term applicants).
