The Duxton have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Functions & Event Manager to support their team at one of Canberra's most prestigious locations.
Reporting to the owner, you will use your leadership and strategic planning capabilities to ensure seamless delivery of a number of events on a daily basis ranging from corporate lunches through to sit down formal dinners and high-end cocktail functions whilst ensuring food quality and service standards are continuously maintained.
**Other key responsibilities include**:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of various events- Working closely with the Head chef to ensure all the financial aspects of your business unit including budgeting, cost control and reporting are achieved and upheld.- Encouraging team members to develop their skills through performance planning and continuous training.- Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure all legislative compliance and standards are met to minimise risk and maximise business efficiency and outcomes.- Driving revenue and harnessing new opportunities.- Delivering a level of innovation to function & conferencing food products and service.
**In addition, you can demonstrate**:
- Significant experience in a management role within the hospitality industry.- Outstanding client service focus demonstrated by superior communication ability.- Strong business and financial management skills.- Proven experience in managing people and stress within a constantly changing and dynamic environment.- Flexibility to work at different hours throughout a working week. This role will involve working evenings at different times throughout the course of the week.
